About The Position

As an organization that serves 17 counties, ABC of Southwest Texas works to engage our community in meaningful ways through donor events and relationship building. We are looking for… We are seeking a high school senior or undergraduate student with an interest in Event Planning, Public Relations, Development and Fundraising, Communications, or other similar fields. This role works directly with the Director of Development to participate in planning special events, develop connections with potential donors, and support the goals of the Development Team.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with families, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks, keeping accurate records, and maintaining organized documentation.
  • Working well with other team members, community partners, and external organizations to provide comprehensive support.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a positive organizational culture
  • Valid Texas Driver License
  • Reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Travel locally independently or with staff to conduct outreach initiatives
  • Provide support during community education initiatives
  • Provide support during donor relation events such as open houses, the annual gala, golf tournament, etc.
  • Support the development team as they execute the strategic plan for fundraising
  • Working well with other team members, community partners, and external organizations to provide comprehensive support
