About The Position

Position: Special Education Teacher Salary: 60,000/Annually! Location: PLEA School in Homestead, PA Schedule: This position will be for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year and follows the PLEA school calendar. PLEA is Hiring a Special Education Teacher for its School Based Partial Hospital Program! As a Special Education Teacher at PLEA, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. Hours worked will be based on the school calendar. The Special Education Teacher plays a critical role in providing instruction and mental health support in a therapeutic classroom setting. The position is instrumental in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for academic, social, and daily living skills development, as well as behavioral health. The teacher will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide an integrated and comprehensive program of support to meet the unique needs of each student. Requirements

  • Understanding and agreement with the philosophy and objectives of the PLEA school
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Highly motivated to work with special needs population and their families
  • Strong knowledge of child development, therapeutic interventions, and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving skills, and ability to adapt to changes
  • Maturity, reliability, and sound judgment
  • Degree in Special Education
  • PA Special Education Certification or Private Academic License
  • Experience working in special education environment
  • ACT 33, ACT 34, and FBI Fingerprint Clearances
  • PA Mandated Reporter Training
  • Must be 18 years or older
