About The Position
This position will be working with elementary grades 2-4.
Requirements
- Must have a strong desire to work with a wide array of student (age, race, ethnicity, etc ).
- Be highly flexible and agile (we are living and working in a very dynamic time right now).
- Be highly collaborative, team- oriented and customer service driven.
- Master's degree in the field o f Special Education preferred.
- Either certified in mild to moderate special education or moderate to severe.
Responsibilities
- Ability to build good relationships with children, parents, Teachers and Social Workers
- Ability to work 1:1 or in small groups with students
- Ability to work well with children from different backgrounds who have different abilities
- Well-organized and self-driven to devise and adopt new techniques for teaching and keeping the student(s) on task
- Ability to manage challenging behavior
- Excellent leader and mentor for students
- Strong attention to detail and an inquisitive mind to understand each individual student
- Ability to assist students in meeting their academic goals as set forth in the IEP
