About The Position
We’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Intermediate Instructional Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom serving students with diverse learning needs. This class includes learners with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), specific learning disabilities, functional needs, and communication challenges. The ideal candidate will create a supportive, inclusive, and structured learning environment that fosters both academic progress and social-emotional growth. Collaboration, flexibility, and strong communication skills are key to success in this role.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- LBS1 Endorsement required

- Experience supporting students with varying learning and communication needs preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with student IEP goals
- Support social-emotional and behavioral growth using evidence-based strategies
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education staff
- Maintain organized data and documentation to track student progress
