About The Position

The position of Special Education Behavior Interventionist/Registered Behavior Technician works alongside the Special Education Director, Building Administration, District Behavior Analyst (if one is employed), Instructional Coaches, and Special Education Teachers to support students' behavioral needs. The interventionist provides progress monitoring (data analysis) related to behavior intervention plans and other evidence based practices for students with disabilities. The interventionist demonstrates positive interpersonal skills, cooperative teamwork, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

  • Registered Behavior Technician Certification

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create effective behavior management programs
  • Support teacher with implementation of STAR curriculum (discrete trial, task analysis, pivotal response training, prompt fading, data collection, reinforcement systems, etc) with multiple students in the classroom
  • Support classroom teacher with behavioral data systems and data collection
  • Maintain a current knowledge of behavioral intervention practices and related areas
  • Facilitate small group practice and reinforcement
  • Supporting students’ independence with functional routines
  • Preparing instructional materials and participating in planning meetings with the classroom teacher
  • Maintain confidentiality of all student information
  • Other duties may apply according to supervising teacher and building administration
