About The Position
Special Diets Intern Join in our mission of providing life-changing experiences that enhance independence and self-esteem for children and adults with disabilities! As a True Friends Special Diets Intern, you'll assist in meeting the unique dietary needs of participants, staff, and guests, ensuring meals meet specific nutritional requirements. Requirements
- Must be able to pass an background study
- Basic understanding of food safety and nutrition principles
- Motivated to work with individuals of all ages and abilities
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Able to hear, read, and write in English
Nice To Haves
- Currently perusing a degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or related field (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Adapt and prepare meals for various dietary restrictions
- Work in a collaborative kitchen environment serving diverse populations
