This Special Counsel Assistant Attorney General position will function as a lead litigator for the Tallahassee Bureau of the Consumer Protection Division and will work closely with other litigators for the Division in assisting with division litigation, taking a lead role in priority matters and complex litigation, providing guidance and advice on litigation strategy and drafting and reviewing pleadings. This position will also assist bureau management by providing back up for manager coverage to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Tallahassee office. This position requires as a prerequisite to employment a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and membership in the Florida Bar. The Special Counsel AAG position represents the Office of the Attorney General, Department of Legal Affairs, in trial and appellate courts and administrative tribunals in proceedings relating to Chapters 501, 542, 812, 817, 895, and 932 of the Florida Statutes, the Florida Administrative Code, and other state and federal laws enforced or relevant to cases filed by the Office of the Attorney General.
