We are seeking a Special Collections Coordinator II for our Charlotte, NC Office located at: 13500 South Point Blvd, Ste L., Charlotte, NC 28273 Shift Information: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday (HYBRID) Hourly rate: $18.03 an hour + Shift Differential (+$1.75 after 3pm, +$2.75 on weekends)

Requirements

  • Education: High School or equivalent required. RN/LPN, medical assistant training or equivalent experience preferred, with current state licensure as required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Documented satisfactory performance in previous level within the job family or the equivalent experience required.
  • Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team.
  • PC skills required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to interact with difficult patients, physician office personnel, etc.
  • Excellent customer service skills essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate autologous donations, including screening calls, triaging requests, coordinating blood freeze orders, obtaining donor medical clearance, arranging payments, etc.
  • Provide detailed information to patients requesting autologous and/or directed blood donations and educate donors about donation requirements, products and shelf life.
  • Prepare and ensure the proper distribution of donor and patient autologous/directed donor packets.
  • Administer health history screenings for patients, referring questionable histories to the supervisor.
  • Schedule the patient following established scheduling guidelines and refer any scheduling problems to the office supervisor for resolution.
  • Liaise with physicians' offices, transfusion service personnel, other regions, etc. to provide information on deferrals, changes in orders, etc. in a timely manner.
