About The Position

Sofidel America, a leading manufacturer of tissue products committed to sustainability and operational excellence, is seeking a Spare Parts Warehouse Assistant to join our team. The Spare Parts Warehouse Assistant is responsible for receiving incoming goods and preparing outbound shipments of parts, maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products required
  • Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
  • Able to wear and comply with all personal protective equipment (Eye and ear protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
  • Able to lift, up to 40lbs frequently, between 40 and 50lbs occasionally, over 50lbs minimally. When lifting 50lbs and above, Technician will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.
  • Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.

  • Forklift or Clamp Truck certification preferred
  • Prior Distribution experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills preferred
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing safety procedures (safe driving procedures, personal protective equipment, etc.) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all spare parts warehouse inventories through enterprise work order system
  • Receive incoming goods (inventory and non-inventory items) and stock appropriately
  • Communicate with vendors and internal co-workers for ordering and/or inventory delivery
  • Prepare outbound shipments of parts to include documents and carrier contact
  • Perform, audit, and enter daily cycle counts generated from the work order system and non-system generated manual cycle counts
  • Provide assistance to suppliers regarding purchase, deliver, and attainment of spare parts warehouse items to satellite locations
  • Resolve shipping errors and discrepancies
  • Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE)
  • Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause
  • Ensure spare parts warehouse and storage areas are clean and organized
