About The Position

CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a hands-on Maintenance Spare Parts Engineer to build and optimize a structured spare parts program that improves equipment uptime and reduces maintenance delays.
This role combines fieldwork, data management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure critical parts are available when needed.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in maintenance, inventory, storeroom, or industrial operations
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical spare parts
• Experience with CMMS/EAM systems and work order processes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work both in the field and within systems/data
• Strong collaboration skills across maintenance and procurement teams

Nice To Haves

• Experience building or managing asset BOMs
• Background in manufacturing, utilities, or heavy industry
• Understanding of spare parts criticality and lead-time risk

Responsibilities

• Identify critical assets and establish minimum spare parts requirements
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for key equipment (motors, pumps, gearboxes)
• Improve spare parts data accuracy within CMMS/EAM systems
• Reduce stockouts by prioritizing high-risk and long lead-time components
• Standardize parts across similar equipment where possible
• Partner with maintenance and procurement teams to align inventory with operational needs
• Identify obsolete or redundant inventory and support optimization efforts
• Support implementation of a criticality-based stocking strategy
