About The Position

The Virtual Arkansas Enhancer Developer serves as the project’s primary Developer responsible for implementing enhancements to existing course content within the LMS and other instructional platforms. This role does not create or revise instructional content. Instead, the SME Enhancer Developer executes updates provided by Designers, Subject Matter Experts, Alignment & Assessment Designers, and/or other project stakeholders to ensure the course reflects high-quality formatting, usability, accessibility, and consistency with Virtual Arkansas standards.

  • Familiarity with accessibility formatting practices (training provided)
  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum); Master’s degree desired

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing or enhancing online course content within an LMS
  • Strong familiarity with digital instructional tools and learning platforms
  • Experience working alongside instructional designers or SMEs in curriculum projects preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed implementation directions accurately and efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Build, update, and refine existing course content within the LMS according to enhancement requests provided by Designers, SMEs, and project stakeholders
  • Implement revisions to modules, pages, assignments, discussions, assessments, and media elements using content supplied by other team members
  • Resolve LMS formatting issues, navigation problems, and layout inconsistencies
  • Apply Virtual Arkansas branding, formatting, and style guidelines throughout the course
  • Upload, embed, or integrate multimedia and third-party tools as directed
  • Ensure accessibility through correct structural formatting, alt text placement (provided by the team), and platform-compliant design practices
  • Maintain consistent course structure and improve usability through technical adjustments, not instructional revisions
  • Participate in project meetings, calibration sessions, and professional development as needed
  • Prioritize and adapt work to meet required deadlines
  • Abide by all Virtual Arkansas and applicable Arch Ford ESC policies and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
