The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace’s strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities. The Enterprise Integration Solutions Office (EISO) guides the solution of cross-agency, multi-mission capability orchestration problems by building and leveraging integration expertise throughout the corporation. We build agile project teams who collaborate across disciplines, customers, international partners, and industry in support of national outcomes. The Commercial Space Integration Center (CSIC) integrates cutting-edge commercial solutions into government space missions, enhancing national capabilities. We bridge industry advancements with national objectives by surveying the market for innovative concepts, fostering relationships, assessing solution viability, and promoting modern acquisition strategies. We are looking for a Space Industry Market & Business Analyst (Senior Member of the Technical Staff – Economic & Market Analysis) within CSIC to maintain awareness of commercial offerings, evaluate providers considering market trends, and support integrated products to inform government program decisions. Work Model This full-time position requires 100% onsite work at one of the following locations: Chantilly, VA; El Segundo, CA; Pasadena, CA; or Colorado Springs, CO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Management Sciences, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4 years of experience in business viability assessments, market analyses, or related studies.
  • Proven experience supporting a broad variety of government space mission architectures and relevant space market industry segments (remote sensing, communications, ground, launch, space domain awareness, PNT, weather, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and research skills to evaluate offerings across the space industry in context of government mission objectives.
  • Demonstrated communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Willing to travel to meet the needs of the organization and customers, approximately 5-10% of the time.
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Awareness of evolving commercial space offerings and innovations, including emerging technologies and market trends.
  • Experience in synthesizing complex information and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Familiarity with government acquisition processes and commercial space contracting vehicles.
  • Experience collaborating on major commercial market evaluation across other FFRDCs, government entities, UARCs, SETAs and/or industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of market research and company viability assessments aligned with program office strategic direction and proactive support of emerging needs.
  • Perform competitive landscape analysis to understand market positioning and identify key players within the commercial space industry, developing market intelligence briefings and reports.
  • Identify and advise customers on the market and business risks associated with integrating commercial solutions into national capabilities.
  • Execute industry studies to identify and highlight unique features, advantages, and challenges of service provider offerings from a market and business strategy perspective.
  • Contribute to integrated portfolio decision support products that include technical, business, financial, and acquisition considerations of commercial offerings.
  • Support engagement with national space enterprise customers to understand their mission requirements and challenges.
  • Track and analyze emerging commercial space trends, innovations, and market shifts to inform assessment priorities.
