About The Position

Born from the elegant merger of the culinary and hospitality worlds, Appellation is a new hotel brand that brings together the best of local elements: a hotel collection powered by people, connected by food, and defined by place—all designed to celebrate its destinations’ culture, community, and craftsmanship. Developed by visionary co-founders Charlie Palmer, one of America’s best-known, award-winning chefs and pioneer in the American hotel-restaurant model, and Christopher Hunsberger, a 30-year veteran of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and its former president of North Americas, Appellation's first hotels and resorts will take root in 2025. The Spa Receptionist serves as the welcoming guide to guests' wellness journey. This is a key role that ensures each visit is smooth, meaningful, and memorable—from first contact to farewell. If you’re someone who enjoys helping others, sharing knowledge about great products, and contributing to a culture of wellness and care, you are invited to join their founding team.

Requirements

  • A person who thrives in service environments and genuinely enjoys connecting with others
  • Calm under pressure, flexible, and able to multitask with grace
  • Creative, curious, and open to learning new systems and information
  • Enjoy talking about products and helping guests find what supports their well-being
  • Brings a teachable spirit and a team-first mindset
  • Comfortable with technology, including booking software and point-of-sale systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in customer service or hospitality
  • Computer-savvy and willing to learn spa software (training provided)
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a spa, salon, wellness, retail, or medical front office setting
  • Interested in (or experienced with) beauty, wellness, spa, or medical environments
  • Cosmetology license, esthetics background, or product sales experience

Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests warmly and genuinely; creating a welcoming, calm first impression
  • Answer phones, respond to inquiries, book appointments, and manage daily scheduling
  • Support guest check-ins and check-outs, including payment processing
  • Provide informed recommendations on retail products and spa services
  • Maintain cleanliness and ambiance of the reception area and retail displays
  • Assist with light administrative tasks, inventory, and laundry coordination
  • Communicate effectively with the treatment team to ensure flow and timing
  • Help guests feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their visit
