About The Position

This position provides regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) coordination, support, and services for PSU CTE personnel (administrators, support staff, and teachers) in the districts assigned. Duties include facilitating the implementation of the CTE Essential Standards; providing technical assistance to PSUs on CTE issues; monitoring LEA compliance with applicable regulations, laws, policies, and procedures; facilitating processes for PSU local applications for CTE Planning and Performance Management; collaborating with the DPI staff; facilitating and/or providing professional development and updates to CTE personnel in PSUs; serving as the liaison for NC Prosperity Zones as assigned; and other duties as assigned by the CTE Director.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in the education field to which assigned from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of specifically related experience in public education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a CTE Director at a Public School Unit (PSU) is preferred.
  • 711 CTE Director License preferred.
  • Concentration in curriculum development, professional development, evaluation, and principles of learning for adults and children.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to internal and external clients including: CTE Directors and other PSU Central Office Personnel; Curriculum and Instructional Management Coordinators (CIMCs); Career Development Coordinators (CDCs); Special Populations Coordinators (SPCs); Principals; Teachers; Other CTE Staff; Other interested parties.
  • Provide local, regional, and statewide professional development opportunities to increase skills and knowledge of participants using multiple learning opportunities.
  • Support other CTE and DPI initiatives through leadership and coordination. Other initiatives many include Career Pathways, Regional Support Team, etc.
  • Monitor PSUs for compliance with federal and state laws and requirements: review and approve PSU local applications/plans; review and approve budgets for PRC 013, 014, 017 and other CTE budgets as designated from time to time; and monitor CTE program effectiveness.
  • Other special duties as identified by the Section Chief for Regional Services and CTE Director.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
