About The Position

The Sourcing Specialist, Components and Materials is responsible for planning and driving negotiations, projects and initiatives to reduce total cost of ownership across multiple components and materials categories within manufacturing environments. To this purpose, the Sourcing Specialist will work in close collaboration with multiple cross functional teams at Viking, meanwhile developing and strengthening business partnerships with Suppliers. Sourcing and Supplier Management: Lead projects and initiatives supporting efficiency, optimization and savings across multiple components and materials categories such as electrical, mechanical, gas-systems and aesthetical categories, related to the manufacturing of home appliances. Manage assigned supply base, driving continuous cost and quality improvements, including negotiation of favorable pricing, terms and conditions, achieving best total cost of ownership (TCO), using discretion and independent judgment to make sourcing decisions. Design and implement best practices to improve business performance, reduce waste, and strength supply chain reliability, including quality continuous improvement and quality cost recovery. Leverage data analytics and fact-base decision making to map and drive cost reduction opportunities in close partnership with manufacturing, finance, quality teams and suppliers. Lead sourcing events (RFI’s, RFQs, RFPs) enabling total landed cost reduction opportunities and new product development. Drive effective communication and collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal operational execution and timely product delivery. Operations and Finance Support: Partner with Product Development, Operations, Quality and Materials teams to ensure material availability and timely resolution of supply related issues. Collaborate closely with Finance and Treasury to comply with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, finance or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, materials or supply chain roles.
  • Cross functional leadership.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, MRP/ERP systems and inventory management best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Participative leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong assertive communication, ability to positively influence others and drive results.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in international trade is a plus.
