About The Position

The Sourcing Manager will develop and implement strategies for best practices regarding cost, risk, and schedule balance for assigned commodities. This role involves delivering complex, custom-engineering solutions to a diverse customer base with challenging schedules and cost boundaries. The incumbent will have project management and commodity buying responsibilities that may vary upon business needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of strategic procurement experience, specifically in project-based, custom projects.
  • Experience dealing with schedules, deadlines, etc., within procurement.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • ERP system experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage overall supply chain activities for assigned projects from OTO (offer to order) to OTC (order to completion).
  • Create, control, and execute project-related optimized sourcing strategies to ensure project success and risk mitigation.
  • Review customer specifications and provide procurement-related comments as needed.
  • Perform market analysis and negotiate with suppliers on technical and commercial issues to ensure effective procurement at or below market levels or cost estimates.
  • Coordinate and align purchasing activities with the global Material Group Manager.
  • Review, control, forecast, and report the status of the project purchasing budget and activities during project review meetings.
  • Provide customer-focused assistance to internal customers, especially in association with key projects and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Purchase materials and services in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Develop collaborative relationships and strategic alliances with suppliers to promote quality improvement and cost reductions.
  • Support special project activities for the team as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain.
