Our Sourcing team is growing and we are seeking an innovative, hands-on Sourcing Manage r to drive meaningful impact across our supply chain. Reporting to the Director of Demand Planning and Sourcing, this role will own the strategic sourcing of packaging for our wine brands. The Sourcing Manager will oversee the execution of sourcing strategies, identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities, manage supplier relationships, support new product development, and ensure quality standards are met. This role is a key contributor within a dynamic department and plays a critical role in the overall supply chain process. It is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented professional seeking high visibility and the chance to influence impactful new product and vendor development initiatives. The position offers hands-on exposure to the full product development lifecycle—from ideation through launch—while building strong partnerships across the organization. This individual will also have the opportunity to lead and develop team members, deepen expertise in wine packaging materials and production processes, and further strengthen supplier management capabilities while driving measurable business impact. This position is based in Paso Robles, CA. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday. Travel requirements may occasionally impact the hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of sourcing experience required; experience in wine packaging strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of people management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Packaging Engineering, or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 20%
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes, coupled with strong quantitative skills and the ability to analyze and present data effectively
  • Strong leadership, relationship building and communication skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally, with experience collaborating across diverse teams
  • Well-versed in strategic sourcing principles and demonstrates excellent negotiation abilities
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to bring structure and resolution to ambiguous or complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to present information clearly and concisely to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
  • Excellent project management skills, particularly in cross-functional team settings
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency
  • Able to thrive in fast-paced environments, manage multiple deadlines, adapt seamlessly to change and embrace a growth mindset
  • Interest in packaging materials, with enthusiasm for exploring innovations, production methods, and sustainability initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of packaging materials and processes is a plus
  • Knowledge of printing technology is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of sourcing strategies for Wine Packaging materials, including glass, labels, capsules, corks, corrugate, and other packaging categories
  • Own all procurement activities for wine packaging materials, including but not limited to, tracking bottling schedules, submitting purchase orders, negotiating pricing, following vendor production schedules, coordinating deliveries, and approving invoices
  • Manage and develop 1 analyst, providing day-to-day guidance and mentorship while supporting professional growth and ensuring alignment with sourcing and business objectives
  • Owns all quality issues related to wine packaging materials, including monitoring quality complaints, collecting and analyzing data, and partnering with suppliers on root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Develops and issues RFPs for all sourcing-related projects, including procurement, supply chain/logistics, professional services, and capital projects
  • Partner with the New Product Development team to provide material support for innovation projects
  • Responsible for setting and achieving annual COGS targets through management of supplier contracts, spend, and performance
  • Develop, grow, and maintain a network of qualified suppliers for primary and secondary packaging materials
  • Conduct financial analyses to achieve the optimum cost-to-value relationship
  • Define and monitor key spending trends, cost drivers, market factors, geographic considerations, and the strategic importance of critical commodities to identify and implement appropriate sourcing strategies
  • Track performance metrics, including external benchmarks, to enable data-driven decision-making
  • Work with Operations and Marketing to develop and maintain detailed specification documents for all packaging materials, which include technical drawings, testing procedures, AQLs, shipping formats, and current artwork
  • Stay current on packaging innovations and emerging technologies and proactively recommend cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
