We offer upward mobility and internal promotions. Primary Function: Acts as the customer representative (ex.DSQR) for source inspection of castings. Performs all types of inspection requirements of castings, also including review of customer documentation. Also, includes responsibility for participation in customer training programs. Tools and Equipment: Calibration equipment, measuring tools, customer drawings, customer purchase orders, customer specifications, computer. Materials: Metal Castings Direction of Others: None Working Procedure: The following are the usual major job duties, but this job description does not preclude the performance of other duties as assigned by the supervisor: •Will be responsible as customer representative (ex, DSQR)and held accountable for the quality of product to assure they meet customers requirements prior to shipment. •Exercise independent judgment on a consistent basis. •Interact with operators including final inspectors to provide immediate feed back on issues with the product. •Ensure that all operations are completed and signed off on the manufacturing route sheet. •Retrieve all necessary paperwork to perform any of the jobs outlined here. •Ensure that all equipment used is within the calibration cycle, and is in good working condition. •Maintain all necessary paperwork associated with any of the jobs outlined here. Must be detailed oriented. •Must be able to work in a team environment, using excellent communication skills both with the team and cross-functionally. Must build and maintain positive relationships •Must follow all safety requirements of job as outlined on the job safety card •Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor •Complete all paperwork associated with the job. Correctly maintain all forms and instruction sheets •Maintain a clean and orderly working environment •Inform your supervisor about problems that occur •May be required to handle hazardous waste by collecting and transferring the waste into proper containers at satellite storage areas or storage areas and assuring that the containers are properly inspected, labeled, and closed as required. Must follow correct instruction for handling hazardous waste and report any deviations to supervisor immediately. Must attend yearly instruction in hazardous waste handling and review of current procedures if job duties could affect non-compliance.

Requirements

  • DQR (source) candidates must have a minimum of (1) one year quality/ inspection experience in a related industry and at least (6) six months experience in the applicable product and specification requirements
  • Previous experience using measuring tools and calibration equipment required.
  • Vision requirement of 20/20 or better in at least one eye, per the J1 standard as well as color perception.
  • Must be able to travel to customer sites to receive training and in some instances inspect product.
  • Weekend overtime is necessary in some instances.
  • Must be able to read and understand blue prints, and be able to demonstrate proficiency.
  • Must be able to understand basic Metrology fundamentals (GDT)
  • Must be able to use a computer and have experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Requires sufficient strength and physical dexterity to frequently lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass examinations at customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR) training sessions.
  • High School Diploma or GED
