Job Title : Receiving/Source Inspector Reporting To: Quality Assurance Supervisor Work Schedule: Onsite – Torrance, CA Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Receiving/Source Inspector to join them. You will report to our Quality Assurance Supervisor and will have an onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA. Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is a global leader in designing primary and secondary flight control actuation systems (FCAS) for military aircraft. We design and integrate FCAS systems for cutting edge aircraft like the F-35 Lightning II and the V280 Valor next generation tiltrotor Aircraft. To be considered for the Receiving/Source Inspector, here's what you'll need to bring with you: High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Minimum 3 years or more working as an inspector, or machinist highly skilled at using measuring instruments Proficient with sine plate, comparators, profilometer and surface plate layout using Micro-Hite Experience with standard mechanical measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, digital indicators, various gauges, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Include: Inspection experience in aerospace industry Machine shop inspection CMM (coordinate measuring machine) experience Ability to inspect all of the above mentioned dimensions Ability to read blueprints and the ability to understand and interpret purchase orders and certification requirements and supplier provided data Proficient in basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office As a Receiving/Source Inspector, you will: Inspect incoming hardware utilizing TIPQA software inspection plans. Perform multiple mechanical/visual inspections on incoming purchased parts and assemblies, in-process and finished parts, first article inspections on machined purchased parts in-house and/or at vendor facilities when required. Work from approved inspection plans, engineering drawings, purchase orders, operation sheets and specifications. Use different precision measuring instruments to verify compliance on dimensions, angles, radii, contours, holes, surface finishes, concentricity, hardness, material and plating. Work involves simple to complex setups on surface plates using height gauge, gauge blocks, sine plates and indicators. Layout of complicated casting, forgings and blanks may be required prior to machining to establish working points. Maintain daily logs and initiate non-conforming documentation for parts not meeting requirements. Record applicable information into Inspection History and other business databases.
