About Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Owned by the City of Austin and operated by the Department of Aviation, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is an economic engine, supplying over 74,000 direct and indirect jobs in the Central Texas region. May serve as Chief Audit Executive for a City department. Completes auditing work which includes investigating, reviewing, and analyzing financial information, internal controls, operational performance, and management practices to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures and local, state, and federal laws, statutes, and guidelines. Job Description: Purpose: Under limited supervision, performs complex evaluation of mitigation of outdoor music venues and of sound production used to transmit live and recorded productions in multiple media formats. Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Evaluates technical quality of audio systems. Mitigates sound level issues with outdoor music venues. Evaluates and recommends layouts, flowcharts, and/or schematics of audio equipment. Integrates audio programming with live web casting and audio on demand equipment and needs. Provides expert advice to the permitting office. Creates, revises, and implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to sound and sound production equipment for use by City staff. Regulates sound inputs and feeds and/or coordinates audio feeds with live broadcasts and recordings. Determines audio production equipment needs and makes recommendation for purchases. Requirements

  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in sound Engineering, and Telecommunications or in a field related to the job plus four (4) years of related experience.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years.
  • Valid Texas Class C Drivers License.
  • This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a City vehicle.
  • Successful candidate must be in possession of a Texas driver's license as authorized by the Texas Transportation Code.
  • A driving record verification will be conducted.
  • Applicants for positions for which City driving is an essential function must meet the standards of the program: age 18 or older, current applicable driver’s license, proof of insurability and no more than six (6) points assessed on Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) based on Department of Public Safety's (DPS) Driver Record Report.
  • This position falls under the COA safe driver program requirements.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and fluently speak in English.
