About The Position

If so, we invite you to be part of the opening team at Wineaux Summerlin! We are seeking Sommelier/Servers who are dedicated to providing warm hospitality and knowledgeable food and beverage service. Role: The Sommelier/server is responsible for delivering an experience of welcoming hospitality and knowledgeable food and beverage interactions with our guests. As a Sommelier/server, you will be responsible for complete knowledge of the wine/beverage list, food offerings, suggestions on food and wine pairings as well as the execution of wine/beverage service in an unpretentious, efficient and professional manner. An inherent passion for hospitality, food and beverage is an essential quality in a candidate that we value with high regard. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age,
  • 5 year of hospitality server experience
  • Must possess a positive attitude and work well with other associates.
  • Valid Clark County Health Card
  • Valid Las Vegas Alcohol Awareness Card.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
  • Requires prolonged standing and mobility.
  • Requires bending and reaching.
  • Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking (five hours or more)
  • Requires eye/hand coordination.
  • May require use of standard office equipment. (Agilysys)
  • May require basic math.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Ability to and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (SDS) and other instructions.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals

Nice To Haves

  • WSET/Sommelier Level 1 Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain guest focus while performing duties
  • Organizes, cleans and maintains beverage station, side stations and proper storage areas and all supplies that support daily duties.
  • Take food and/or beverage orders from dining guest
  • Serve food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Company’s standards.
  • Depending on the food outlet, may record food and drink orders accurately into the micros system to present to the guest for payment.
  • Answer all questions about menu or the Buffet line
  • Checks all food and beverage orders prior to serving to the guest.
  • Request identification when in question of guest age when ordering alcoholic drinks
  • Follow directions and ask questions for clarification
  • Perform side work, restock supplies as needed to service the guest throughout work shift
  • Associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
