About The Position

As a Solutions Engineer, you are an expert on the core technologies we implement at our clients. This includes various networking technologies, on-premise and cloud servers, cybersecurity, and line of business applications. Part of your time is consultative where you will partner with our Client Managers to help explain these technologies to our clients, ensuring they are getting the most out of their tech. Other times you'll be focused on building detailed and accurate technical scopes of work, ensuring we're developing the proper architecture, selecting the correct products, and value engineering when necessary to meet budgets. Successful candidates for this role typically come from a technical background and are well-versed with tracking the fine details while also seeing the bigger technical picture. We do not require experience in any specific vendor or technology, but a broad base of knowledge across networking, cloud, and productivity suites such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace is required.

Requirements

  • 10+ Years of technology services experience, ideally in a strategic role such as IT Director or as a vCIO or Pre-Sales Engineer at an MSP.
  • Experience implementing and/or architecting network infrastructure such as Switches, Wireless, Firewalls, and WAN Connectivity.
  • Experience implementing and/or architecting server/cloud infrastructure such as VMware, Windows Servers, Azure, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
  • Experience developing OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to occasionally manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and associated teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with a clear sense of ownership and priority.
  • Strong Microsoft Office or Google Apps skills, especially Excel / Sheets.
  • Self-motivated, able to move and adapt to rapidly changing priorities & client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop SOWs (Statement of Work) and BOMs (Bill Of Materials) for IT projects involving networking, servers, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity solutions.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert at CTS for specific technologies/solutions and assist other Strategic Advisors and Client Managers with clients’ requests/questions.
  • Work with the Product Innovation Team to develop new client-facing solutions.
  • Execute strategic consulting engagements such as Prospect Assessments and Dedicated Strategic Advisory Services (CIO as a Service).
  • Develop expertise in client-specific industries and provide guidance on best practices with regards to applications and associated systems/workflows.
  • Occasionally participate in discussions with Prospects as a resource to Sales Team.
