Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in cloud architecture and migration, with significant expertise in AWS.
• Experience in a Federal (preferably DoD) environment, focusing on cloud or systems architecture.
• Strong technical writing, design, and information management skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining a DoD SECRET level clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Proven experience in cloud migration for complex IT systems or applications, with familiarity in Federal (e.g., FEDRAMP) and NIST-based cloud security.
• Deep understanding of AWS services, including compute (EC2, Lambda, ECS), storage (S3, EFS), and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Strong grasp of cloud networking principles (VPC, subnets, routing, Direct Connect, VPN) and development methodologies (Lean Agile, Agile, SAFe).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Design: Create highly available, scalable, and secure cloud architectures, primarily utilizing AWS.
• Migration Leadership: Lead the planning and execution of migrating on-premise applications, databases, and infrastructure to AWS.
• Collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Best Practices: Define and enforce cloud best practices, standards, and governance policies related to security, compliance, and cost optimization.
• Technical Guidance: Conduct reviews and provide technical guidance, ensuring adherence to architectural principles across multiple projects.
• Innovation Assessment: Evaluate new AWS services and technologies, recommending their adoption to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Documentation: Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including cloud architecture diagrams and implementation plans.
