About The Position

The Solution Design Analyst performs global Air and Ocean freight analyses on new or existing business and leads internal and external cost improvement projects. This role collaborates cross-functionally with Commercial, Account Management, Operations, and Procurement teams to design data-driven, efficient, and scalable logistics solutions that enhance profitability and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of international freight forwarding operations (Air, Ocean, Ground).
  • Experience in Procurement, Tender Management, or Cost Modeling.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Transportation, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in International Freight Forwarding, Operations, or Sales environments.
  • Fluent in English (required); Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical reasoning skills, including use of ratios, percentages, and statistical inference.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite and advanced Excel modeling (pivot tables, lookups, and scenario analysis).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Commercial, Account Managers, Operations, and Procurement to define pricing strategies for new RFQ business opportunities.
  • Develop detailed pricing models for global Air, Ocean, and Trucking services.
  • Analyze customers’ supply chain networks to identify improvement opportunities and formulate tailored pricing proposals.
  • Determine revenue, margin, and profitability for new and existing business.
  • Convert pricing proposals into established customer tariffs for accurate AR billing.
  • Support Sales and Account Management teams with pricing materials, cost models, and impact analyses for customer presentations.
  • Manage the full tender lifecycle—from initial analysis and preparation through submission and post-submission review.
  • Collaborate with pricing and procurement teams to design cost structures and models customized per opportunity.
  • Proactively identify cost and transit-time reduction opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Transition recurring “spot quote” services into structured “on-tariff” agreements for consistent billing and service optimization.
  • Provide Finance with rate-specific and lane-specific billing clarifications using internal tools.
  • Coordinate with Implementation teams to ensure accurate deployment of awarded business, honoring all commitments from tender and negotiation phases.
  • Support Operations with alternative routing, rates, and cost-effective options as needed.
  • Perform profitability analysis by customer and service, proposing corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Evaluate the impact of rate, dimension, and routing adjustments from partner agents, providers, or customers and define adequate strategies in response.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, efficiency, and profitability across teams and processes.
