About The Position

The Solar Canvasser (Independent Contractor) is responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities through door-to-door outreach in residential neighborhoods within Photon Brothers’ service area. As a 1099 contractor, you set your own schedule within agreed-upon hours, manage your own workload, and are compensated strictly on performance—based on qualified sits and closed deals generated from your canvassing efforts.

Requirements

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Comfortable with door-to-door outreach and handling objections.
Motivated, self-directed, and able to structure your own working hours.
Able to deliver a consistent pitch and follow qualification guidelines.
Outdoor stamina for walking and canvassing multiple hours per day.
Reliable transportation and smartphone.
Must be able to provide proof of general liability insurance

Responsibilities

Independently canvass residential neighborhoods to engage homeowners in conversations about solar energy.
Deliver a concise, compelling value pitch and identify homeowners interested in learning more.
Pre-qualify prospects using Photon Brothers’ criteria (homeownership, roof suitability, shading, utility use, basic credit readiness).
Schedule qualified sits (meetings with solar consultants) and accurately submit lead details through approved channels.
Represent Photon Brothers professionally during all homeowner interactions.
Provide high-level solar education without quoting system prices, financing terms, or making guarantees.
Maintain accurate records of all leads, conversations, and outcomes as required by the company’s lead submission process.
Communicate promptly with sales consultants to ensure smooth lead handoff and maximize close potential.
Manage your own schedule to maximize productivity.
Supply your own transportation, phone, and tools needed for canvassing.
Comply with all federal, state, and local laws related to independent contractor work.
