About The Position

The Software Release Coordinator is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing the release of software products. This role involves close collaboration with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure timely and high-quality software releases. The coordinator will maintain detailed documentation, manage risks, and continuously improve the release processes. Effective communication and organizational skills are essential to facilitate smooth releases and address any issues that arise.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with release management tools and a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with release management, configuration management, and continuous integration/delivery processes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee the release of software products.
  • Coordinate testing/staged data for QA and UAT cycles and simultaneous coordination of release phases.
  • Work with development teams and other departments to document estimated completion dates and coordinate QA and UAT handoffs
  • Negotiate with Technical Product Managers to achieve timely UAT sign-off
  • Keep detailed records of release processes and track release metrics, generate a variety of sprint capacity and velocity related reports
  • Make sure all software updates and releases meet the required quality standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with software releases.
  • Facilitate communication between different teams and stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve the release process to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Provide support during release activities and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Ensuring items assigned to each phase gate reach completion and the appropriate data updates are made, gauge progress and notify leadership of risks that may impact the release, schedule sprint planning meetings and complete associated ADO DevOps data updates as needed, distribute proactive notifications to ensure each phase starts and ends by the established date
