As a Software Engineering Mgr within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Dallas, TX, Phoenix, AZ and Birmingham, AL. The SRC Application System Manager (ASM) is accountable for the operational stability, availability, and risk posture of assigned applications supported by the Service & Reliability Center (SRC). This role acts as the primary technology owner for run‑the‑bank execution, ensuring effective incident response, access governance, compliance with security and regulatory standards, and coordination across application, infrastructure, and vendor teams. Job Description Manages development projects, development teams and application support functions. Oversees multiple application programming and analysis projects which include development, installation and maintenance of application programs. Monitors and maintains adherence and compliance to quality standards on an ongoing basis. Maximizes staff contribution through professional growth and development, to increase teamwork and more effectively meet business needs. Analyzes applications to ensure that all systems that are developed, meet business needs and specifications. Requirements

  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role. Listed below are skills, competencies, work experience, education, and required certifications/licensures needed to be successful in this position.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services technology or other regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with SRC operating models and/or global production support organizations.
  • Experience partnering with offshore or vendor‑based support teams.
  • Understanding of resiliency, failover, and disaster recovery concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Own day‑to‑day production health of assigned applications within the SRC model, including availability, performance, and resiliency.
  • Serve as the escalation point for production incidents, including participation in and leadership of major incident bridges as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring, alerting, and observability are in place and continuously improved.
  • Drive root cause analysis, remediation plans, and problem records for recurring or severe incidents.
  • Accountable for SRC change execution quality for assigned applications.
  • Ensure changes are production‑ready, appropriately tested, and aligned with SRC change standards.
  • Coordinate with Application Tech Leads (ATL), engineering teams, and vendors for release activities.
  • Identify operational gaps and lead initiatives to improve stability, automation, and support maturity.
  • Contribute to SRC standardization efforts (runbooks, shift handoffs, operating procedures).
  • Strong experience in production application support within a 24x7 enterprise environment.
  • Proven incident management and problem‑solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of:
  • ITSM (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Access management and security controls
  • Change and release management processes
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams, risk partners, and leadership.
