As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you’ll work on real projects, be part of our collaborative culture, and get the support you need to grow - across two full semesters. Operations & Technology (O&T) is a $1B operating cash flow ($1.5B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, Connecticut, and London. Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
  • Must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Basic programming knowledge or beginner level experience on programming languages Core Java or Typescript or Python.
  • Knowledge on Test Automation concepts, automation frameworks, automation tools for example: Play Wright, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, Pytest, TestNG.
  • Knowledge about Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • TypeScript preferred.
  • Familiarity with web services, RESTful APIs, and LLM/prompt engineering helpful.
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL data sources helpful.
  • Familiarity with AWS services a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality of products, applications, and services by proactively identifying, reporting, and tracking issues for mitigation prior to product launches.
  • Gain technical skills in quality engineering, including test automation and continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Enhance applications through programming.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects.
  • Support quality testing to ensure reliable and effective system performance.
  • Write and review code.
  • Debug and test applications.
  • Help design cloud and application architecture.
  • Deploy to production.
  • Learn about networking, databases, and other components of applications.
