About The Position

This role focuses on extracting semantic meaning from C and SystemC execution traces and translating them into time‑aligned power features used by the trace‑driven power and thermal simulation pipeline. A solid knowledge of computer architectures is required. Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose, CA office in alignment with our Flexible Work policy Reports to: SVP, R&D (Power & Thermal Lab)

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree 5+ years of experience or Masters degree 3+ years of experience.
  • Strong C++ programming skills.
  • Experience with simulators or architectural‑modeling frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture (memory systems, buses, controllers).
  • Experience handling large‑scale trace data and time‑series analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GPU/TPU workloads or AI/ML execution patterns.
  • Experience with power, performance, or thermal modeling.
  • Background in simulation infrastructure or research‑oriented software development.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze C and SystemC‑level execution and memory‑access traces from GPU/TPU workloads.
  • Define and implement trace semantics relevant to power and thermal behavior.
  • Design feature‑extraction pipelines that map workload activity to power macromodel inputs.
  • Implement event‑to‑time synchronization (cycle‑accurate) across traces, power models, and thermal solvers, considering architectural aspects, and collaborate with architecture/hardware engineers.
  • Collaborate with RTL engineers to ensure feature/model consistency.
  • Support workload‑phase detection, burst‑behavior analysis, and access‑pattern classification based on CPU/GPU/TPU I/O‑operation architectures and memory‑controller operations, collaborating with architecture/hardware engineers.
