Work Model : This is a 100% on-site role at our Carmel office, Monday through Friday. About the team and position: The team you will lead is building a brand-new, AI-first, and cloud-native platform from scratch. Opportunities for greenfield development on a platform this consequential don't come around often. The backend is enterprise-grade .NET on Azure — Postgres, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, Azure Functions, App Services — built for high-volume transaction processing and resilience. APIs are GraphQL, federated into a single graph and a service-oriented architecture. The frontend is React, TypeScript, and micro-frontends running in a monorepo. Everything ships through a multi-stage CI/CD pipeline across development, staging, and UAT environments. What you’ll be doing...

Requirements

  • Minimum 4+ years of software development, with consistently advancing skills and responsibilities
  • Experience in dotNetCore and C#
  • Passion for learning new programming languages
  • Experience working with data storage (SQL or NoSQL)
  • Experience in writing unit tests
  • Experience in debugging and troubleshooting web services, API, and libraries
  • Good communication and collaboration skills - Carvana developers work very closely with strong supporting teams and require great interpersonal skills including a positive attitude and sense of humor

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in contemporary JavaScript / TypeScript (ES2015+), React Hooks, Next.js, Nx
  • Experience in using any cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, RedHat, etc.)
  • Experience in using any message queue, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Experience in writing GraphQL interfaced services
  • Experience in working with authentication and authorization

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and deploy back-end solutions using C# / dotNetCore (GraphQL and RESTful server-side via Web API) stacks and cloud services (Azure: functions, Service Bus, etc.)
  • Work with cloud systems, pipelines, and resources
  • Perform data storage and persistence containers querying using SQL, NoSQL, and caching technologies
  • Develop loosely coupled solutions that are scalable, testable, modularized, and reusable
  • Work in a team environment using Kanban project approaches
  • Learn and try new technologies, approaches, and participate in bringing software engineering in Carvana to the next level
