About The Position

Loch Harbour Group, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer III to serve as the senior technical authority leading the design, development, and sustainment of enterprise software applications and automation platforms. This role requires advanced architecture experience, deep knowledge of modern development methodologies, and the ability to translate complex operational, audit, and compliance requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions. The Software Engineer III will provide technical leadership and mentorship while ensuring applications meet mission, compliance, and audit-readiness standards. This position requires full-time onsite support in San Diego, CA and an active Secret clearance at time of hire.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as: Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science Information Technology Information Systems Mathematics or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Atlassian Jira, Jira Service Management, Microsoft O365 Power Platform
  • Experience with applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting
  • Experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting
  • Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification
  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • Active Secret Security Clearance (required at time of hire)
  • Ability to work onsite in San Diego, CA

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, enhancement, and sustainment of enterprise software applications and automation solutions
  • Architect and implement automated business process solutions using Jira, Jira Service Management, and Microsoft O365 Power Platform
  • Serve as the technical authority for applications supporting material and asset management automation, including barcode scanning, RFID, and related technologies
  • Translate complex operational, audit, and compliance requirements into scalable application architectures
  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations with ERP and other systems of record to support lifecycle management
  • Lead code reviews, refactoring efforts, and technical standardization to enhance performance, maintainability, and security
  • Establish and maintain development standards, technical SOPs, and documentation
  • Support internal control testing and corrective action initiatives through technical validation and solution design
  • Provide technical mentorship and oversight to junior engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices
  • Serve as the senior technical interface with Government stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and guide adoption
  • Ensure all solutions comply with secure development practices, audit requirements, and applicable policies
