The Work The Software Engineer III will design, build, and maintain scalable DevOps solutions and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins) that enable rapid, reliable software delivery for the C2BMC program. Working under general direction, you will develop complex applications in Python, Java, Bash, and PowerShell, implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code and Software‑Defined‑Networking solutions, and create comprehensive documentation for pipelines, architecture, and tooling. You will troubleshoot build‑system and cloud‑environment issues, collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to improve deployment processes, and produce KPIs and metrics that drive network‑enterprise performance. Availability for critical activities outside normal business hours and occasional travel to alternate sites are required. Please Note: - This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. - This position is based at a Lockheed Martin facility in Colorado Springs, CO. C2BMC|Lockheed Martin Who You Are You are a motivated engineer with relevant experience and a solid foundation in software development, automation, and networking. You hold an active Secret clearance, are a U.S. citizen with a valid passport, and possess an 8140‑compliant certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SSCP). Your communication skills are strong—you can write clear documentation and deliver effective presentations with PowerPoint and Visio. You thrive in collaborative, high‑performing teams, yet can work independently on large‑scale field projects, applying object‑oriented principles, REST API integration, and Git‑based version control.
