About The Position

Were looking for a full-stack engineer to join our growing team! Youll work with our API team, as well as the opportunity to work closely with our partners. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both building technology and seeing it come to life through meaningful partnerships. As a Software Engineer II at Name.com, youll be a key contributor, delivering innovative solutions for our web applications and services. Taking on projects of moderate to complex scope, youll work with growing autonomy, collaborating with product stakeholders to ensure solutions meet their needs. Youll drive end-to-end development, improve coding best practices, and evaluate new technologies, while also mentoring junior engineers through pairing, design reviews, and code reviews. Your strong communication skills and technical insight will make you a valuable partner across cross-functional teams. This role reports to Manager, Software Engineering.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Empathy for the customer, using it to guide your decision-making
  • Ability to scope and stage work into well-defined milestones to avoid monolithic deliverables
  • Consistent on-time software delivery, with accurate estimates and a focus on meeting them
  • Ownership of the technical testing and performance plan for your projects
  • Proactive identification and resolution of technical debt before it becomes a significant issue
  • High-level understanding of the overall architecture, allowing you to provide feedback on projects outside your core area
  • Ability to balance technical, analytical, and product needs, leading to solutions that account for all these requirements
  • Identification and proposal of strategies around technical problems affecting your team, communication of standards, and getting buy-in on solutions
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work across time zones as part of a global organization as needed
  • Reliable transportation to the workplace
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Responsibilities

  • Understand and make well-reasoned design decisions and trade-offs in your area of expertise
  • Persistently work to address roadblocks, pulling in others as necessary with minimal direction or oversight
  • Implement and support technical solutions to deliver business requirements
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for projects of increasing complexity, contributing to common code
  • Partner with product and other stakeholders, driving requirements that consider all parties' needs
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with teams like Product, Design, and Marketing as necessary
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve services
  • Contribute ideas to coding best practices and new technologies
  • Act as a technical resource for internal and external clients, drawing on your relationship and technical skills
  • Communicate technical decisions through design documents, tech talks, and documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers through pairing, design review, and code review
  • Contribute frequently to development meetings
  • Consider the effects of technical solutions on non-functional requirements (NFRs)
  • High-level understanding of the overall architecture, allowing you to provide feedback on projects outside your core area
  • Consistently model Identity Digital Values in all interactions and decisions
