About The Position

The Software Engineer writes and maintains code within applications and systems to implement capabilities and features, improve performance and maintainability, while reducing technical debt in alignment with product and technology roadmaps. The Software Engineer plays a role in Agile planning, providing advice and guidance, and monitoring emerging trends. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our End To End Testing Team. The Software Engineer writes and maintains code within applications and systems to implement capabilities and features, improve performance and maintainability, while reducing technical debt in alignment with product and technology roadmaps. The Software Engineer also designs, develops and maintains automated frameworks, test suites and scripts with continuous integration, testing, deployment and delivery. Requirements

  • Knowledge and ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • Ability to engage with the customers, users and other stakeholders to extract and gather requirements.
  • Ability to utilize organizational methods, tools and techniques for requirements analysis.
  • Ability to confirm deliverables, challenge, conflicts and expectations associated with requirements analysis.
  • Ability to determine additional functional and informational requirements, prepares models and documentation.
  • Ability to design, code, test, correct and document programs and scripts from agreed specifications, and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.
  • Familiarity in Python.
  • Ability to open a terminal and navigate directory structures.
  • Understanding of YAML, JSON and shell.
  • Previous exposure to the git change control system and/or knowledge of GitHub.
  • Some software development experience, design, or creative experience.
  • Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate work to team members and partners.
  • Working experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components, client-facing web applications, and major Internet-oriented applications and systems.
  • Working experience realizing applications from conception and design, to implementation and support.
  • Working experience in coding within multiple technology stacks (e.g. Front-end: browser and device typically using common client-side technologies – HTML, CSS, JavaScript; Back-end: server, application, database using languages like PHP, Python, Ruby).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (or 4 years’ experience in a related field).
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.
  • Clear a pre-employment drug test (Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position; however, it is a drug-free workplace).
