Software Engineer I, Backend - Future Openings

Iterative Health is seeking a Software Engineer I, Backend to develop and maintain high-performance, scalable distributed services for their data pipeline. The role requires creative thinking, communication and team organization skills, and strong software engineering fundamentals. The engineer will need to have a breadth of knowledge across various system components, from relational databases to Linux boot configurations, and be able to work on end-to-end system development. This is a pioneering role in the use of artificial intelligence-based precision medicine in gastroenterology, with the goal of optimizing clinical trials and improving patient assessment in the field of IBD treatment.

• Developing and maintaining high-performance, scalable distributed services for the data pipeline
• Utilizing creative thinking, communication, and team organization skills
• Demonstrating strong software engineering fundamentals
• Possessing end-to-end, system-wide breadth of knowledge
• Having the potential need for depth in any system component, such as relational databases and Linux boot configurations
• Contributing to the optimization of clinical trials investigating the treatment of IBD through the use of artificial intelligence-based precision medicine in gastroenterology
• Using advanced machine learning and computer vision to interpret endoscopic videos and other types of data
• Assisting clinicians in better assessing patients with potential GI problems
• Aiming to establish more meaningful endpoints as better predictors of therapeutic response and disease outcomes

• Experience in software engineering and development
• Strong knowledge of backend development and distributed services
• Ability to develop and maintain high-performance and scalable services for data pipeline
• Proficiency in relational databases and Linux boot configurations
• Familiarity with machine learning and computer vision is a plus
