What You’ll do as a Software Development Specialist 1: The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking a motivated Software Developer to design, build, test, and support business applications while ensuring compliance with agency standards and security policies. Develop and modify program modules using technologies such as Microsoft PowerApps, Microsoft Power Fx, C#. Write and execute unit/system test cases; debug and revise programs to ensure desired results. Assist in gathering requirements, documenting business process flows, and developing software solutions to business problems. Provide post‑production support, including maintenance, enhancements, and troubleshooting. Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials. Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to exchange technical information and lead focused discussions. Support user acceptance testing, source control, and deployment activities. Promote system security by adhering to agency and state IT policies. Continuously learn new skills through training, seminars, and self‑directed study.
