About The Position

The function of the Software Compliance Officer II is to work in partnership with the University's Procurement Office in the review of all technology related contracts to ensure purchases align with the policies and standards of Information Services (IS). Essential Functions and Responsibilities 1. Review all technology related contracts for compliance with laws, regulations, and University requirements, and provide recommendations for contract negotiations in conjunction with the Procurement Office. 2. Assist the University's Procurement office with the drafting, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of Information Services (IS) contracts. 3. Serve as a first point of contact for IS customers on contractual matters and provide guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff. 4. Communicate effectively and professionally with outside vendors, University leadership and internal customers throughout the contract negotiations. 5. Analyze information and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. 6. Ensure thorough documentation throughout the entirety of a contract review of all edits, meetings, and final approvals with Procurement and Information Services systems.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline is required.
  • Must be able to learn new technologies and concepts quickly as well as be able to work with outside vendors and internal customers in a professional manner.
  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills.
  • Regularly required to lift 10 or fewer pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Contract management experience a NCMA certification are preferred.
