A Day in the Life This Software Automation Engineer role at Medtronic Tempe focuses on designing, developing, and validating automated manufacturing and data‑collection solutions that integrate with MES and equipment controllers. Medtronic Tempe Campus (MTC), is looking for a Software Automation Engineer to work in the Operational Technology team to support Manufacturing Operations. An ideal candidate for this position will be a self-motivated individual with a thorough understanding of current manufacturing automation software, test data and analytics software development. The candidate must have strong problem solving and analytic skills in addition to excellent written and oral communication competencies. A Day in the Life This Software Engineer will design and develop custom equipment automation solutions as well as electronic data collection integrating with our Manufacturing Execution System (MES), manufacturing data collections systems and Automated Equipment Controllers. The senior automation system engineer is expected to play an active role in working with Manufacturing Operations, Process and Test Engineering in user requirements gathering, design, build, and validation of new automated manufacturing solutions to improve production efficiency and quality.
