About The Position

ACLC is seeking a committed and seasoned SOF-P Medical Instructor/Curriculum Developer to join the dynamic JSOMTC team. In this pivotal role, you will play an instrumental part in delivering top-tier instruction and providing support in training development. Your contributions will be integral to the progression of medical education through the teaching of National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Basic (B) and Paramedic (P) courses, as well as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Your responsibilities will extend to include curriculum development and making recommendations to ensure our courses consistently meet the highest education standards. Active collaboration with our team to enhance our training programs. This will include spearheading course modifications that require updates, rewrites, and redesigns of the Program of Instruction (POI), especially when exceeding the capacity of the existing JSOMTC staff. Your involvement will also encompass integrating vital documentation and data into the Training Development Capability (TDC) Database and other systems, ensuring that our courses align rigorously with the requirements of USASOC and TRADOC. As the SOF-P Medical Instructor/Curriculum Developer, you will hold the primary teaching responsibilities for the classes assigned to you. Your teaching methods will encompass a range of techniques, including large-group classroom instruction, small-group sessions, and hands-on training. You will also collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SME) to facilitate teaching blocks within their respective areas of expertise. The scope of training includes but is not limited to the following: Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Basic Life Support (BLS) / Automatic External Defibrillation (AED) Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Trauma surgical skills lab, operating room procedures, surgical procedures, regional anesthesia, pre-anesthesia, anesthesia, and post-anesthesia care. Obstetrical (OB) and gynecological (GYN) emergencies EMT-Basic certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP) Advanced Tactical Practitioner (ATP) certification EMT-Paramedic certification Field treatment of CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) casualties Dental Dive and high altitude medicine, heat, and cold weather and travel medicine, blast injuries, and high and low-velocity wounds Clinical preceptorship includes the clinical training/experience and evaluation on the ability to apply patient assessment/management/care skills in various clinical settings, rotations through surgery, dermatology, pediatrics, orthopedics, radiology, preventive medicine/community health, and outpatient/family practice clinics.

Requirements

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor (ACLS-I)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS-I)
  • Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic EMT-P certified IAW NREMT, certified IAW a U.S. jurisdiction, or certified IAW USSOCOM Advanced Tactical Practitioner (ATP) requirements.
  • Must be a SOCM graduate, held a grade no less than Sergeant, or a Special Operation Combat Medic, or as an instructor in a USSOCOM medical pipeline.
  • At least three (3) years of Emergency Medicine Instruction experience
  • Must have an active SECRET security clearance or be able to acquire and maintain one.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the daily operations of JSOMTC.
  • Bearing the primary teaching responsibility for the classes he/she is assigned.
  • Teaching methods shall include large group classroom instruction, small group instruction, and hands-on training to include coordination with SME teaching blocks of instruction in their area.
  • Coordinating classes and prepare all facets of lesson plans in cooperation with the Course Director person Special Warfare Center & School (SWCS) guidance and standards, including developing and implementing practical exercises and learning activities.
  • Assembling and maintaining all material pertaining to blocks of instruction, including lesson plans, visitor's folders, etc.
  • Assisting with and or complete administrative duties for all POIs as instructed by ACLC.
  • Conducting basic preventative maintenance on low and high-fidelity medical training manikins/ equipment tasks/trainers.
  • Performing PMCS (daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance) on all equipment and document it appropriately.
  • Setting up and breakdown all required training equipment for each POI instructed.
  • Possessing skills to develop and present educational and command slide presentations.
  • Performing and presenting database and statistics compilations and analysis as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Performance Work Statement as assigned by ACLC.
