POSITION SUMMARY: Perform diversified duties required for the efficient operation of the Field Experiences Office serving both undergraduate divisions in the School of Education and Human Services. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Co-teach Ed 499 each semester. Coordinate and conduct student orientations and registration sessions for teacher candidates and education interns and their supervisors regarding field placement policies and requirements. Coordinate and conduct Clinical Practice Seminar(s) and other professional training for mentors, supervisors, and teacher candidates in compliance with SDE requirements. Travel to sites in and beyond the local area and participate in SDE trainings and meetings as needed. Help develop and oversee Field Experience Office activities, including recordkeeping systems and processes to ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines related to student recordkeeping (e.g., confidentiality and information privacy protection). Initiate, track, review, and monitor status of undergraduate students in teacher education and internship/capstone placements and all related paperwork including fingerprinting, request letters, forms, and notification letters. Manage communication and information flow between the University and all field placement sites. Maintain a list of organizations/non-profits for the educational studies field experiences (internship and capstone). Collaborate on outreach, promotion, and retention programs and activities to attract, retain, and support students in the SOEHS. Contribute to the overall success of the BJU teacher education programs by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned. Maintain regular, posted office hours to be available to students on a daily basis. Attend chapel, faculty/staff meetings, and departmental meetings. Adhere to guidelines outlined in the Academic and Faculty/Staff Handbook.
