About The Position

Paradise Valley Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is an award-winning acute care hospital with 291 beds, serving San Diego for over 100 years. It features the San Diego Spine & Joint Center, an acute rehabilitation center, a Paradise Health & Senior Center, a cardiac catheterization lab, comprehensive inpatient and outpatient surgical services, and 24-hour emergency services. The hospital also offers comprehensive behavioral health services on its main campus and the Bayview campus in Chula Vista, including psychiatric continuum of care for adult patients, inpatient services, and intensive outpatient services.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work field OR Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy OR Master’s Degree in Professional Clinical Counseling
• In states requiring license, required upon hire and maintain current in accordance with state regulations
• Minimum one (1) year Inpatient or Outpatient Behavioral Health experience
• Experience working with a diverse population with a wide range of problems (i.e., death and dying, maternal and childcare, unhoused population, substance abuse, disability, chronic illness, etc.)

• Current BLS certificate upon hire

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support, crisis intervention and counseling for Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Older Adults, and their significant others to cope with a multiplicity of social and emotional problems
• Provide information and referral
• Provide referrals for financial assistance and supportive services to patients and families with problems that are related to treatment services, illness, disability, or trauma
• Provide case management & milieu management
• Complete psychosocial assessments
• Assist in the development and re-evaluation of Treatment Plans
• Work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Coordinate discharge planning
• Complete necessary documentation and maintain clinical record for each client throughout the patient’s stay
