New Country Day Camp is an open-tent community that celebrates and sustains joyful, outdoor summer experiences where all can thrive. It maintains a proud legacy as a Jewish camp comprised of a multicultural community, representing and celebrating the heartbeat of NYC. The camp builds meaningful connections with self, others, and the natural world through innovative programming rooted in Jewish tradition and guided by universal values. New Country Day Camp is an 8-week, outdoor summer camp for campers in kindergarten-8th grade, operating Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. It provides transportation for staff and campers to and from its campgrounds on Staten Island via multiple locations throughout Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. NCDC is a neurodiverse camp community, and all staff members are responsible for supporting neurodivergent and neurotypical campers and staff to have successful summers. The camp is seeking experienced Social Work: Support Supervisors who will play a pivotal role in coordinating and supervising its disability-inclusive model. This model provides extra support to campers with additional social/emotional/behavioral/mental health needs (including diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADD/ADHD, mood or anxiety disorders, sensory processing issues, etc.). Support Supervisors ensure that all campers can experience the joy of camp in the most inclusive, least restrictive environment possible. The role involves part-time work during pre-camp (April-June) and transitions to full-time during the camp program (June-August).
