About The Position

The Social Media Manager is the strategic lead for Duluth Trading Co.’s organic social ecosystem and creator strategy. Your primary objective is to amplify the "No Bull" brand voice through owned social channels and our high-impact external agency partnership. You will transition from "doing" to "directing"—ensuring that our Internal and agency partners deliver authentic, high-performing influencer programs and social content that drive brand heat, community loyalty, and customer acquisition.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5–7 years in Social Media/Influencer Marketing, with at least 2+ years experience managing an external agency.
  • Platform Expertise: Advanced knowledge of the creator economies on TikTok, Meta, Reddit, and YouTube.
  • Tools: Proficiency in CreatorIQ, Emplify, Sprinklr, or Sprout Social, and experience using data to tell a story.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Agency and Internal Stakeholder Governance & Strategic Oversight
  • Primary Influencer Agency Liaison: Lead the daily relationship with the external influencer team. Set high-level seasonal objectives and KPIs, ensuring the agency is fully aligned with Duluth’s product stories and business goals.
  • Strategic Vetting: Review and approve all agency recommended influencer partnerships, prioritizing creators who deliver unique aesthetic perspectives while ensuring their audience demographics align with target consumer segments, regardless of personal brand
  • Brand Guardrails & Briefing: Author comprehensive creative briefs for the agency and internal teams. Act as the "Brand Guardian" to ensure all content produced for our social channels maintains our signature humor, technical accuracy, visual identity, ladders up to strategy, and is native to the channel for which it has been created
  • Integrated Media & Content Strategy
  • Full-Funnel Orchestration: Work closely with the Paid Media team to ensure a seamless "hand-off" of high-performing organic and influencer content for paid amplification (whitelisting).
  • Cross-Functional Roadmap: Partner with Merchandising and Product Development to ensure the social and influencer content calendar supports key inventory bets and product launches.
  • Future-Proofing: Identify emerging social trends and platforms and challenge our partnersto innovate and keep Duluth at the forefront of digital retail.
  • Reporting, Planning, Rights Management, & Measurement
  • Contract & Usage Governance: Oversee the agency and internal negotiation of talent contracts as it pertains to our owned channels. Ensure all creator assets are secured with the necessary usage rights for use across paid media, email, website, print, and retail store displays.
  • Reporting & KPIs: Work with internal teams and external agencies to contribute to tactical planning and reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and campaign basis. Own social media management/listening tools
  • ROI Accountability: Audit internal social and external influencer performance. Move beyond vanity metrics (likes/follows) to track brand health, focusing on new customer acquisition, engagement quality, and brand sentiment.
  • Team Leadership & Internal Advocacy
  • Mentor & Lead: Manage the Marketing Specialist, ensuring they effectively support the internal teams and influencer agency team timely feedback, creative requests, content planning, with content creation logistics and day-to-day community management tasks.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Working closely with the social media specialist lead the relationship between marketing and Duluth’s Care Crew, ensuring a cohesive approach to monitoring customer comments across our social channels.
  • Internal Evangelist: Present social and influencer wins to Senior Leadership, translating complex social data into clear business insights that demonstrate marketing’s impact on the bottom line.
