About The Position

The Social Media Content Specialist I position manages organic social media channels and content for the College of Engineering and Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, under the direction of the Social Media Content Specialist III. This position upholds a consistent brand tone and voice across platforms, ensuring all information accurately reflects Texas A&M Engineering’s initiatives and culture. The specialist creates and sources content, monitors trends and news, and helps elevate the Texas A&M Engineering brand on Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify content to promote via social media channels.
  • Schedule editorial content for social media channels.
  • Create social media posts in Sprout Social according to brand standards and campaigns under the direction of the Social Media Content Specialist III.
  • Build relationships with TEES agencies, departments, and college-side orgs to create collaborative content.
  • Proactively visit engineering buildings/labs to capture new, diverse content.
  • Engage actively with affiliate accounts and industry partners across all platforms.
  • Cultivate intentional community connections.
  • Manage and respond to inbox communications and inquiries.
  • Attend student events, capture photo and video content, and conduct interviews under the direction of the Social Media Content Specialist III.
  • Assist with basic graphic design and video editing as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
