About The Position

Wayne Metro seeks a lively and creative individual with a passion for social media, content creation and event coordination. This internship provides hands-on experience in both digital media and event execution, offering an excellent opportunity to develop skills in marketing, storytelling and community engagement. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the Communications Department to create, develop, and publish content while assisting with special events and internal engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Video Production, or a related field
  • Passionate about content development, social media strategy, and event planning
  • Ability to develop and manage creative projects from start to finish
  • Strong writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma/general education degree (GED) OR a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent.
  • Pass Criminal Background check & Drug Screening
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professionalism in appearance, tact, punctuality, and dependability
  • Good interpersonal and professional skills including but not limited to professional appearance, tact, punctuality, and dependability.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with event coordination or digital marketing is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and publish content across various platforms, including social media, website, blogs, email campaigns, and presentations.
  • Execute social media strategies aligned with best practices across channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and TikTok
  • Capture and edit video/photo content for digital storytelling
  • Collaborate with the Graphic Designer, Social Media Specialist, and Communications Manager on creative projects
  • Assist in developing and executing the Comms Street Team, an internal group promoting our communications strategy
  • Support the planning, promotion, and execution of internal and external events, including community outreach, program launches, and agency celebrations
  • Consult with department representatives to create marketing plans, and strategies for event promotion
  • Coordinate logistics, including event setup, vendor communication, and on-site support
  • Capture event content for social media and digital platforms
  • Provide post-event evaluations and reports to assess effectiveness
