About The Position

We are seeking a highly driven and motivated Sales Market Manager to join our dynamic team. This full-time, exempt position will be based 100% in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales and distribution within the adult beverage industry, with a strong focus on driving growth in both on-premise and off-premise accounts. The Market Manager is responsible for increasing sales in the assigned region (Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo), creating lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships with retail accounts and distributors, and maintaining the integrity and value of Sonoma Craft brands. This includes direct account responsibility for key on and off-premise accounts, securing new business in existing and new accounts, with a focus on chains.

Requirements

  • 3+ years prior sales experience in adult beverage sales and distribution.
  • Experience working with (or for) Beer/Wine/Spirit Distributors.
  • Experience calling on off-premise and on-premise independent and chain accounts in the assigned territory.
  • Understanding of 3-tier pricing structure.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills.
  • Experience using VIP/IDig.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Knowledge of competitive market environment.
  • Proficiency with personal computers/laptops and associated programs.
  • Highly organized and able to establish clear priorities.
  • Aggressive work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure each distributor that you work with is 100% compliant with the ABP and Contract.
  • Distributor management to include achieving annual business goals regarding distribution & volume, creating and managing budgets, assisting with distributor ordering and inventory, and holding distributor meetings as required.
  • Aggressively pursue new on and off-premise distribution and chains in assigned market.
  • Actively call on all chains that you are responsible for; keep updated sales call activities on shared sales drive.
  • Call on key accounts with the distributor to secure new distribution (including high-exposure local venues), making timely presentations and introducing our products on draft as well as in package.
  • Execute monthly business meetings with key distributor staff, hold quarterly reviews, and present consistently in GSM meetings to track progress.
  • Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with key accounts and distributor sales personnel.
  • Organize, lead, and assist distributor in executing chain programs and distribution drives.
  • Ensure that each distributor merchandising team understands and regularly executes our brand standards.
  • Train accounts as well as distributors on our products and provide retail education and training at the account level.
  • Travel to company sales meetings; participate in market blitzes in other territories, and otherwise work with other members of the team to execute/achieve the sales plan.
  • Complete necessary reporting and communications on a timely basis daily and weekly.
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen with an understanding and ownership of the markets.
  • Excite each potential consumer that you interact with to create brand recommenders.
  • Share wins company-wide.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Sales Manager.
