This position will serve as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-ED) Nutritionist for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Onondaga County. The SNAP-ED Nutritionist will primarily be responsible for the delivery of established SNAP-ED public education programming to improve healthy food and lifestyle choices among families and individuals encompassing targeted age groups throughout Onondaga County. The SNAP-ED Nutritionist will provide non-formal education using approved curricula and lesson plans to participants through direct and indirect education efforts with a focus on general nutrition, food preparation, food choice, food safety and physical activity. Nutrition education will be conducted in a variety of community settings to include, but not limited to: emergency food program sites, schools, parks, youth serving organizations, Farmer’ Markets and school/community gardens. This position will collect and track data using approved protocol following Association and University confidentiality protocol. This position is in-person and not remote.
