SMS Safety Assurance Lead

Help drive the safety culture through SMS Safety Assurance, including audits, evaluations, and investigations to ensure process functional effectiveness. This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with employees at all levels. You’ll be able to have a direct impact on the world of aviation safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Aviation Safety, Engineering, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety or similar discipline. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
- At least 5 years working with aviation safety, product safety or quality programs.
- Experience working with regulations and standards, auditing to the same, identifying and conducting Root Cause analysis, identifying Corrective Actions, monitoring effectiveness. Six Sigma certification is beneficial.
- Ability to audit, analyze and communicate data, trends and safety information for use in change management of the culture and to enhance safety.
- Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.
- Excellent communicator must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with employees, SMS team members, enterprise leaders at all levels, and brief leaders and regulators.
Responsibilities
- Manage global SMS audit program against ICAO, TCCA, EASA, FAA, DoD and DCMA standards
- Oversee Corrective Action Management (CAR)
- Prepare trend analysis for Safety Review Board (SRB) and leadership
- Lead safety performance monitoring program
- Oversee investigation standards, tools, and training
- Validate effectiveness of risk mitigations through monitoring and follow-up
- Coordinate supplier product safety audits
- Maintain any SMS policy and procedure related to Safety Assurance
