About The Position

The setup person is tasked with safely and efficiently configuring the slitter arbors to ensure precise slit widths that meet our customers' requirements.

Requirements

High school education or GED required.
Candidate must have the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Candidate must be able to also meet the physical requirements of the job including the ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet on a concrete floor for the entire shift.
Candidate must also be able to effectively communicate with others and work well in a team environment.
Candidate must be qualified on tubes.

Responsibilities

Assemble tooling setups for the slitting line, utilizing tooling spacers, slitter knives, and stripper rings.
Follow part numbers (PN) and straightforward instructions to ascertain the required widths for customer orders.
Utilize the provided setup software and PN data to create a precise shimless setup.
Use a tape measure, caliper, and micrometers to ensure the final product aligns with customer specifications, cross-referencing measurements with customer requirements.
Perform daily calibration of tape measure, caliper, and micrometer, meticulously recording the results.
Input necessary widths and parameters into the computer for the software program to generate setup information.
Determine the required clearance for the setup using the provided clearance chart.
Load and thread a master coil up to the slitter head.
Be capable of banding finished material as needed.
Maintain proper 5S and housekeeping standards within the designated work area.
Initiate training for the next phase of slitter operation, focusing on the role of the chief operator.
