This role is essential to the success of every home we build—ensuring underground plumbing systems are installed accurately, safely, and on schedule before the slab is poured. The Experience We’d Love To See: 2 - 5+ years of underground plumbing experience Excavator experience Ability to read plans, interpret plumbing drawings, and shoot grade Strong understanding of local plumbing codes Reliable transportation and required hand tools Physically capable of trench work, lifting, bending, and working outdoors Valid SC driver’s license with a good DMV record Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently
Requirements
- 2–5+ years of underground plumbing experience.
- Proficiency operating excavator.
- Ability to read plans, interpret drawings, and shoot grade.
- Strong knowledge of local plumbing codes and underground installation standards.
- Reliable transportation and required hand tools.
- Physically capable of trench work, including lifting, bending, and working in varying conditions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Clear communication skills and ability to coordinate with supervisors and inspectors.
- Must have a valid SC driver’s license with good DMV record.
Responsibilities
- Excavate trenches and work areas using a mini excavator
- Install sewer lines, water services, and slab prep systems per plans and code
- Lay out underground systems and shoot grades for proper fall and alignment
- Perform pressure tests and prepare work for municipal or third‑party inspections
- Coordinate with site supervisors, builders, inspectors, and other trades
- Ensure all underground plumbing is completed and approved before slab pour
- Identify issues early and resolve them proactively to avoid delays
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
- Follow all trench safety and excavation best practices
- Uphold company standards for professionalism and workmanship
